[About Kurume Kasuri]
A retro belt-driven power loom system from the Showa era, where 20 looms are connected to a single motor.
This Kurume Kasuri weaving workshop was founded in 1948.
It is one of Japan's representative traditional yarn-dyed textiles.
Features a soft texture close to handwoven fabric.
With over 30 mostly manual processes, each fabric takes 2-4 months to complete.

[About Solid Kurume Kasuri]
Kurume Kasuri is known for its "kukuri" (binding) technique that creates a wide variety of patterns,
but even when woven on a power loom, it still retains a handwoven-like softness.
Processes such as warping, weaving, and finishing are carried out with minimal stress on the yarn,
and many steps continue to be done manually.
This texture, passed down through generations of artisans, is recognized by many enthusiasts.
Even for solid and striped fabrics without the kukuri process,
the same artisans weave and finish the fabric carefully, resulting in a softness highly valued by users.

[About Mura Yarn]
Mura yarn is created by intentionally applying thick and thin sections randomly along a single yarn.
Before the development of modern spinning technology, these irregularities occurred naturally,
and are characteristic of the vertical fading seen in vintage denim.
With today's trend toward natural, hand-spun textures, Mura yarn has regained attention.
Shmogawa Orimono focuses on this concept and actively incorporates Mura yarn - rarely used in Kurume Kasuri until then -
into tategasuri, solid, and stripe designs.
They also pay attention to the significant differences in Mura yarn characteristics depending on the spinning company.
