* Ensure the candle holder is completely dry before use to prevent the wax from splattering.
* Wa-Rousoku feature traditional wicks made of Japanese paper and rush pith. As the candle burns for 20 to 30 minutes, the wick lengthens. Trim the center of the charred wick with scissors to maintain an optimal flame. Following this method when extinguishing the candle prevents ash from scattering and ensures easy relighting.
* Use the candle in a draft-free area. Strong winds cause soot and dripping wax, which prevents complete combustion.
