[About Kurume Kasuri]
A retro belt-driven power loom system from the Showa era, where 20 looms operate from a single motor.
This Kurume Kasuri weaving workshop was founded in 1948.
It is one of Japan's representative traditional yarn-dyed textiles.
Features a soft texture close to handwoven fabric.
With over 30 mostly manual processes, each fabric takes 2-4 months to complete.

[About Solid Kurume Kasuri]
Kurume Kasuri is known for its "kukuri" (binding) technique that creates a wide variety of intricate patterns,
but even when woven on a power loom, it retains a handwoven-like softness.
Processes such as warping, weaving, and finishing are done with minimal stress on the yarn,
with many steps performed by hand.
This craftsmanship creates the distinctive softness that has been passed down through generations.
Even when the kukuri process is omitted, as in solid or striped fabrics,
the same artisans complete the fabric with the same careful methods,
resulting in a texture appreciated by many fabric enthusiasts.

[About Mura Yarn]
Mura yarn has intentionally varied thicknesses - thick and thin sections are applied randomly.
Before modern spinning technology, these irregularities occurred naturally,
and are characteristic of the vertical fading seen in vintage denim.
With today's trend toward natural textures, hand-spun-like Mura yarn has been reevaluated.
Shmogawa Orimono actively incorporates Mura yarn - previously rare in Kurume Kasuri -
into Tategasuri, solid, and stripe designs.
They also pay attention to the unique differences in Mura yarn characteristics depending on the spinning company.
