    A kyusu crafted using the traditional Tokoname technique of nerikomi.
    Today, very few artisans continue to make kyusu with this method.
    Among them, Tosen's nerikomi work stands out, as the kyusu takes on a completely different character depending on the ratio of clays used as the base.

    The strainer is a ceramic tea filter known as ceramesh.

    [Tokoname Ware]
    Tokoname is one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan, with origins tracing back to the late Heian period.
    It is characterized by the use of iron-rich clay sourced from the Chita Peninsula.
    When fired to bring out the red tones of the iron content, the clay becomes shudei, producing the distinctive color associated with Tokoname ware.
