[About Kurume Kasuri]
A retro belt-driven power loom system from the Showa era, where 20 looms operate from a single motor.
This Kurume Kasuri weaving workshop was founded in 1948.
It is one of Japan's representative traditional yarn-dyed textiles.
Features a soft texture close to handwoven fabric.
With over 30 mostly manual processes, each fabric takes 2-4 months to complete.
All woven fabric is finished by hot-water washing and natural drying, allowing it to shrink about 10%.
An ideal textile for those who wish to produce unique works using Japan's traditional weaving techniques.

[Weaving Characteristics]
Uses fine-count warp yarns called 60/2.
Combined with the color balance between warp and weft, this fabric achieves a chambray-like sheen.
The 2-ply yarn series is an original development, featuring a unique woven texture created through special weft winding techniques.

Due to the chambray effect, the color appearance varies depending on light and viewing angle.
Although photos have been carefully selected from many shots, the color tone and impression may differ depending on perception or angle.
