    Kurume Kasuri is woven on retro belt-driven power looms from the Showa era, with twenty looms running from a single motor. Founded in 1948, the mill continues to produce one of Japan's representative yarn-dyed textiles. The fabric is known for its soft, handwoven-like texture. With more than thirty manual steps, each roll takes two to four months to complete. This textile is ideal for those who wish to create items rooted in traditional Japanese craftsmanship.


    Tatekatsuri, a kasuri technique that expresses patterns only through the warp yarns, is also known as itagasuri. It is a classic method that creates clean, distinctive patterning.
