    Tokoname is one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan, with origins tracing back to the late Heian period.
    It is distinguished by the use of iron-rich clay sourced from the Chita Peninsula.
    When fired to bring out the red tones of the iron content, the clay becomes shudei, producing the characteristic color associated with Tokoname ware.
