    Banko-yaki earthenware is a traditional pottery produced in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, Japan. Known for its exceptional heat resistance and heat retention properties, Banko-yaki is renowned for its kyusu (teapot) and earthenware pots that leverage these qualities. Among them, the Gimpo Mishima earthenware pots are recognized as the standard and have been popular since the 1970s.

    Featuring a design of white and gray gradation adorned with a floral pattern, along with its high heat resistance and heat retention, these pots find favor not only in regular households but also among professional chefs. They continue to be cherished by people both in Japan and abroad. Suitable for a range of dishes such as one-pot meals and stews, these pots can be used over an open flame, in a microwave oven, or a conventional oven, though they are not suitable for induction cooktops.
