[About Kurume Kasuri]
A retro belt-driven power loom system from the Showa era, where 20 looms operate from a single motor.
This Kurume Kasuri weaving workshop was founded in 1948.
It is one of Japan's representative traditional yarn-dyed textiles.
It features a soft texture similar to handwoven fabric.
With over 30 mostly manual processes, each piece of fabric takes 2-4 months to complete.
All woven bolts are hot-water washed and naturally dried, shrinking about 10 percent as part of the finishing process.
This textile is ideal for those who want to create a carefully crafted item using traditional Japanese weaving techniques.

[Weaving Characteristics]
A fine 60/2 yarn is used for the warp. Combined with coordinated warp and weft colors, the chambray effect gives the solid fabric a subtle luster.
In the two-ply yarn series, the unique method of winding the weft creates an original and distinctive woven texture.
The addition of dark brown in the warp enhances the depth of color.
