Japanese Traditional Craft: Yuzen Pattern Yuzen pattern is a traditional craft from Gifu, which is also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is referred to as "Yuzen paper" when the beauty of Yuzen is expressed on Japanese paper (washi). As seen in Yuzen dyeing for kimonos, Yuzen patterns are elegantly dyed using a variety of colors to create picturesque designs. On Mino washi paper, we used silk printing to maintain the unique texture of traditional Yuzen and encased it in resin.

Thanks to the abundant water sources in the mountains, Gifu Prefecture is home to first-class rivers like the Kiso River, Ibi River, and Nagara River. Japanese paper made from this clean water has been cherished in Japan since the Nara period. The beautiful Mino Yuzen washi paper, a traditional technique, is a heartwarming part of Japanese culture. The Mino washi paper, produced in Gifu, is completed in Kyoto.
