This View Point sculpture is a collaboration between New York designer Akira Yoshimura and Sano Masa Seisakusho. Born from curiosity about what would happen if a flag were turned into a 3D object, it encourages us to observe things from different angles. We have preserved the expression born during the casting process, intentionally leaving the texture usually removed during finishing. Each piece is unique due to hand-casting by Takaoka artisans. It is coated, but will age beautifully over time. Winner of the 2021 Takaoka Craft Competition Mayor's Award.
