[About Kurume Kasuri]
A collection of 20 retro, belt-driven power looms connected to a single motor creates a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa era. Founded in 1948, Kurume Kasuri Weaving Workshop is an emblematic producer of traditional pre-dyed woven textiles in Japan. Notable for its soft, almost handwoven texture, this fabric is characterized by its intricate handcrafted process, encompassing over 30 steps and taking 2 to 4 months to complete. It's a perfect choice for those who aspire to create unique pieces within the realm of Japan's traditional textiles.

[Weaving Characteristics]
The technique of "tatekasuri" or "vertical kasuri" is employed, using only warp threads to express patterns. This technique is also referred to as "itagasuri."

[Soft Slub Weave]
Warp Threads: 60/2
Weft Threads: 10/1 Slub
By using finer warp threads and thicker weft threads, the fabric achieves a soft texture that emphasizes the qualities of the weft threads, resulting in a gentle touch.
