    [About Kurume Kasuri]
A retro belt-driven power loom system from the Showa era, where 20 looms operate from a single motor.
This Kurume Kasuri weaving workshop was founded in 1948.
It is one of Japan's representative traditional yarn-dyed textiles.
Features a soft texture close to handwoven fabric.
With over 30 mostly manual processes, each fabric takes 2-4 months to complete.
    [About Solid Kurume Kasuri]
Kurume Kasuri is known for its "kukuri" (binding) technique that creates a wide variety of intricate patterns,
but even when woven on a power loom, it retains a handwoven-like softness.
Processes such as warping, weaving, and finishing are done with minimal stress on the yarn, often by hand,
resulting in a texture that has been passed down through generations of artisans.
Even for solid or striped fabrics without the kukuri process, the same artisans weave and finish them carefully.
This craftsmanship produces the distinctive softness that many fabric enthusiasts appreciate.
    [About Mura Yarn]
Mura yarn refers to thread that has intentionally varied thicknesses - thick and thin parts are applied randomly.
Before the advancement of spinning technology, these irregularities occurred naturally,
giving vintage denim its unique vertical fading effect.
With today's "return to nature" trend, hand-spun-like Mura yarn has regained attention.
Shmogawa Orimono focuses on this feature, actively using Mura yarn - previously uncommon in Kurume Kasuri -
for "Tategasuri," "solid," and "stripe" designs.
They also focus on the distinct characteristics of Mura yarn that differ depending on the spinning company.
