[About Kurume Kasuri]
Kurume Kasuri is a traditional Japanese pre-dyed woven fabric known for its association with the Kurume Kasuri Weaving Workshop, established in 1948. It features a unique setup of 20 looms connected to a single motor, reminiscent of the retro belt-driven power weaving machines from the Showa era (1926-1989). The workshop's foundation in the 23rd year of the Showa period (1948) solidifies its heritage as a representative of Japanese craftsmanship.

This fabric showcases a soft and pliable texture reminiscent of handwoven textiles, and it embodies a meticulous creation process. With more than 30 intricate steps involved, it takes 2 to 4 months to complete the weaving process.
