A retro Showa-era belt-driven power loom, consisting of twenty interconnected weaving machines powered by a single motor, characterizes Kurume Kasuri. Established in 1948, it is a representative of Japan's rich textile tradition and is known for being a traditional pre-dyed woven fabric. Its distinctive feature is its soft texture, resembling handwoven fabrics. With a multitude of manual processes involved, it takes 2 to 4 months to complete over 30 intricate steps. This textile is perfect for individuals who desire to create a meticulously crafted piece with a touch of Japanese heritage.

The "Tatekasuri" technique, where patterns are exclusively expressed using warp threads (vertical threads), is also known as "Itagasuri."
