[About Kurume Kasuri]
Kurume Kasuri is a traditional pre-dyed fabric, produced at a weaving factory established in the year 1948 during the Showa era. The factory operates 20 retro belt-type power looms connected to a single motor. This fabric is renowned as one of Japan's representative traditional textiles. Its distinctive feature is the soft and delicate texture, reminiscent of hand-woven fabrics. The production process involves numerous manual steps, taking 2 to 4 months to complete over 30 different processes. After weaving, all the fabrics undergo a natural drying process using hot water to achieve a 10% shrinkage, resulting in a unique finish.

[Weaving Characteristics]
For the warp (vertical threads), a fine count of 60/2 is used, along with a combination of vertical and horizontal color arrangements, producing a shiny solid color effect known as "Chambray." The series with double warp threads feature an original weaving pattern characterized by a subtle play of colors. The indigo slub yarn on the weft (horizontal threads) adds depth to the color.

Warp: 60/2 Ox Blood, Weft: 20/1 Golden Brown 1322, 20/1 Kinarie

Due to the Chambray effect, the appearance of the fabric can vary depending on the angle of light and the fabric's position, resulting in different color perceptions. Therefore, we have carefully selected images from numerous shots, but please understand that the color and fabric appearance may differ based on various factors.
