[About Kurume Kasuri]
This is Kurume Kasuri, a traditional pre-dyed textile manufacturer founded in 1948, operating a collection of 20 looms interconnected by a single motor, evoking the retro charm of Showa-era belt-driven power looms. Known as a representative of Japan's heritage, Kurume Kasuri exhibits a soft, handwoven-like texture akin to that of manual weaving. With its numerous intricate manual steps, it takes 2 to 4 months to complete over 30 processes, making it the perfect choice for those seeking to craft a distinctive piece within the realm of Japan's traditional textiles.

[Weaving Characteristics]
Kurume Kasuri employs the "Tatekasuri" technique, also known as "Itagasuri," wherein patterns are formed exclusively through warp threads (tateito). This particular weave features a unique pattern, creatively combining three distinct knotting patterns in an irregular arrangement.
