[About Kurume Kasuri]
This is a retro Showa-era belt-driven power loom with 20 looms connected to a single motor. Founded in 1948, it is a traditional Japanese dyed and woven fabric, representing Japan. It is known for its soft texture, similar to handwoven fabrics. The production involves many manual processes, taking 2 to 4 months with over 30 steps to complete.
All finished fabrics undergo a natural shrinking process through hot water treatment and air drying, reducing the size by about 10%. This initiative also supports entrepreneurs. Kurume Kasuri is the perfect choice for those who wish to create unique and exquisite traditional Japanese woven pieces.
