    An old-fashioned, Showa-era retro belt-driven power loom, consisting of 20 units connected to a single motor, operates here. This is the Kurume Kurokami weaving workshop, established in the 23rd year of the Showa era, known for its representation of traditional pre-dyed Japanese textiles.

    Its hallmark is a soft texture reminiscent of hand weaving. With a manual process that involves multiple steps, it takes 2 to 4 months to complete more than 30 processes. Once woven, the fabric is naturally shrunk by about 10% through a process of hot water treatment and air drying.

    They are also committed to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs. For those who wish to create a unique piece with a profound appreciation for traditional Japanese textiles, this fabric is a perfect fit.
