Made in Japan
A traditional Banko-yaki teapot crafted in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture—an area renowned for its historic pottery. Banko-yaki teapots have long served as the ideal vessel for brewing Japanese tea. They use a clay called shidei (purple clay), which retains heat better than porcelain or metal and naturally absorbs tannins, the components responsible for bitterness. Because the clay absorbs tannins, Banko-yaki teapots make tea taste smoother and milder.
The Red Fuji Teapot features a rounded shape that allows tea leaves to spread fully for optimal extraction. It is lightweight, making it easy to pour, and artisans decorate it with vivid overglaze artwork depicting Mt. Fuji and cherry blossoms, symbols of Japan that add an elegant, luxurious finish.
Not suitable for direct heat, microwave ovens, or conventional ovens.
The capacity is perfect for about two cups of tea.
■ Overglaze-Decorated Teapot
This teapot is not only a practical tool for brewing tea but also a beautiful piece of art crafted with attention to aesthetic detail.
■ Functional and Easy to Use
Perfect for about two cups of sencha or one mug-sized serving.
Weighing only about 275 g, it is lightweight and easy to handle.
Made using Banko-yaki clay rich in iron, which absorbs bitterness for a smoother taste.
The wide opening makes it easy to discard tea leaves and clean.
■ Ideal as a Gift
Available in two rich, elegant colors with a refined, weighty feel—perfect as a thoughtful gift.
