Kurume Kasuri is a traditional pre-dyed woven fabric that originates from Kurume, established in the 23rd year of the Showa era. [Weaving Characteristics]

[Gingham Pattern]
A type of checkered pattern where squares or rectangles of different colors are arranged alternately. This auspicious pattern has been utilized in decorations, crafts, and architecture since ancient times. It conveys meanings such as prosperity in descendants due to its continuous connection in all directions. Originally used for cobblestone patterns, it gained the name "Ichimatsu Pattern" when the Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu popularized it by incorporating it into his costume's hakama during the Edo period.
