Interview Highlights

Question Tetsuya Tachibana’s Answer
Q1. Do you have any preferences for the towels you usually use, such as color, size, or softness? I mostly use white towels in a standard size. I prefer towels that aren’t overly fluffy — if anything, a slightly firm feel.
Q2. Have you noticed differences in towels depending on the country or region you’ve visited or the place you’ve stayed? Yes — it really varies by hotel. Some places have large, rough towels, while others offer long-pile, fluffy ones.
Q3. What do you look for in a towel? (Softness, color, size, etc.) Absorbency, and also odor resistance. I’m not particular about size or color.
Q4. What are your thoughts on the texture of the HIORIE towels? They were even better than I expected! I used both a bath towel and a mini bath towel; they felt great and were very absorbent — just the right not-too-fluffy texture for me. The mini bath towel is larger than usual and can even stand in for a full bath towel.

Closing

This second feature in our Celebrity Voices series captures Tachibana’s professional yet down-to-earth take on HIORIE towels — praising their absorbency, balanced texture, and everyday usability. As a drummer known for his dynamic performances with SPARKS GO GO, ultraUB, and THE PRIMALS, Tachibana values functionality and comfort, both of which he found in HIORIE’s craftsmanship.

His experience shows how premium Japanese towels can appeal not only to everyday users but also to professionals who appreciate both performance and quality in the tools of their daily lives.

In the coming months, more Japanese creators and artists will share their voices on Luxcras — not only about towels but also about a wide range of Made-in-Japan products.

Editor’s Note

The mini bath towel mentioned above is HIORIE’s best-selling in-between size — midway between a face towel and a bath towel. It’s easy to dry, space-saving, and ideal for everyday use, which is why it has become a customer favorite.
