[About Kurume Kasuri]
The heart of Kurume Kasuri lies in the vintage charm of a collection of 20 interconnected power looms, all powered by a single motor. This nostalgic setup harkens back to the Showa era and stands as a testament to Kurume Kasuri Weaving, established in the year 1948. As a pinnacle of traditional Japanese pre-dyed weaving, Kurume Kasuri boasts a texture akin to handwoven fabrics and resonates with the softness of its manual crafting heritage. With a meticulous process requiring over 30 steps spanning 2 to 4 months, this textile is tailor-made for individuals who seek to create exclusive pieces that encapsulate their dedication to Japan's rich textile tradition.

[Weaving Characteristics]
The distinctive "Kurume Kasuri" style stands out through the "Katahawari Komi" technique, where patterns on the warp threads (Tateito) are arranged in the smallest unit. This particular technique, also known as "katahawarikomi," brings the warp threads to life as the sole vehicle of pattern expression.

[Arare Pattern (Arare)]
The term "Arare" refers to finely spaced patterns that resemble Arares. Unlike prints, patterns created through the binding technique offer a sense of uniqueness to each element, resulting in an intriguing arrangement with an overall sense of harmony. This diversity in size is a characteristic of the binding and dyeing method, enhancing the pattern's versatility for a wide range of applications, whether in garments or accessories.
