    [About Fabric Scraps]
Fabric scraps, as defined by Shimogawa Orimono, refer to pieces of fabric that are less than 12 meters in length and are created during the weaving process. These shorter lengths of fabric are a result of various factors, such as adjustments for pattern alignment, broken warp threads, or uneven coloring, which prevent them from becoming full rolls of fabric. Similar to regular fabric rolls, these scraps undergo processes like "hot water shrinking," "water washing," and "natural drying" after being woven.

These fabric scraps, measuring less than 12 meters (some may include minor weaving imperfections), are offered as discounted items compared to their regular prices. While initially available only through direct sales at our factory as part of factory tours, given the current circumstances, we have decided to expand our availability online due to limited factory tour capacity.

    [About Kurume Kasuri]
Utilizing a vintage belt-driven power loom setup of 20 connected looms, Kurume Kasuri is a traditional pre-dyed woven fabric. Founded in 1948, it represents the heritage of Japan and features a soft, handwoven-like texture. With over 30 labor-intensive steps, it takes 2 to 4 months to complete. Ideal for those who seek to create distinctive pieces in line with Japan's traditional weaving.
