A yakishime kyusu with a simple yet powerful rustic character.

Each mogake pattern is unique, and the surface develops a richer texture the more it is used.

With a compact capacity for single servings, it is easy to store and perfect for enjoying a quiet tea moment of your own.

    [Gyokko Kiln]
This kyusu is handmade by the second-generation potter, Gyokko Umehara.
Both the second-generation Gyokko and the third-generation Gyokko (Koryu) are certified traditional craftsmen.

All kyusu from Gyokko Kiln feature a ceramic tea strainer known as ceramesh.

The body is crafted on a potter's wheel using shudei clay and unglazed stoneware clay.
Because each piece is handmade, the dimensions and capacity may vary slightly.

Kiln variations and the final color may also differ from the photos depending on the firing conditions.
    Thank you for your understanding.

    [Tokoname Ware]
Tokoname is one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan, with origins tracing back to the late Heian period.
It is characterized by the use of iron-rich clay sourced from the Chita Peninsula.
When fired to bring out the red tones of the iron content, the clay becomes shudei, producing the distinctive color associated with Tokoname ware.
