This teapot is crafted from Shudei (red clay) using a potter's wheel and adorned with a thousand-line pattern. After the initial firing, Tokoname seaweed is applied to the surface before firing again. Finally, the piece undergoes a finishing process known as "Chagama-hen" (tea kiln transformation). This labor-intensive process creates a unique and rich color finish.

Capacity: 460cc, ideal for serving 3 to 4 people.

The teapot is equipped with a "Ceramesh" ceramic tea strainer, ensuring excellent filtration.

[Gyokko Kiln]
This teapot is handcrafted by the second-generation artisan Gyokko Umehara. Both the second-generation Gyokko and the third-generation Gyokko are certified traditional craftsmen.

All Gyokko teapots are equipped with a "Ceramesh" ceramic strainer.

The clay used is a blend of Shudei (red clay) and Yakishime (high-fired unglazed clay), carefully shaped on a potter's wheel.

Since each piece is handmade, individual dimensions and capacities may vary slightly. Additionally, the kiln effect and color variations of the tea kiln finish may differ from the reference images due to the firing process. Thank you for your understanding.

[Tokoname Ware]
Tokoname Ware is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, with origins dating back to the late Heian period.

A distinctive feature of Tokoname Ware is its use of iron-rich clay sourced from the Chita Peninsula. This natural characteristic produces the signature red coloration known as Shudei, a defining element of Tokoname's traditional ceramic art.
