Kurume Kasuri is a traditional pre-dyed woven fabric that originates from Kurume Kasuri Orimoto, established in 1948. It embodies the essence of Japan's rich weaving heritage. With its soft texture reminiscent of hand weaving, it stands out as a unique fabric. The intricate manufacturing process, involving over 30 steps, takes 2 to 4 months to complete. A distinctive feature of Kurume Kasuri is its "Tatekasuri" technique, where intricate patterns are woven using only the warp threads (tateito). This method is also known as "itagasuri."
