[About Kurume Kasuri]
Kurume Kasuri is a traditional pre-dyed woven fabric, produced using a retro belt-style power loom system consisting of twenty interconnected looms driven by a single motor. Founded in the year 23 of the Showa era, Kurume Kasuri's craftsmanship represents a significant part of Japan's heritage.

While Kurume Kasuri is known for its diverse patterns achieved through a technique called "kukuri," the fabric woven using power looms also boasts a unique soft texture akin to handwoven fabrics. Each step of the process, including warping, weaving, and finishing, involves minimal stress on the threads and incorporates manual labor, contributing to the distinctive feel that has been handed down from generation to generation. While the kukuri process is omitted for plain or striped designs, the same skilled artisans meticulously weave and finish these fabrics. Consequently, even the plain fabrics are highly regarded for their softness by many enthusiasts.

[Slub Yarn]
Slub yarn is a type of fancy yarn, known as "isho yarn," that adds a decorative touch to the fabric. It is created by intentionally introducing longer and relatively larger thickened sections, known as "neps" or knots, into the yarn. The characteristic feature of this yarn is the appearance of these neps on the fabric's surface, creating a unique speckled effect.
