    A retro belt-driven power loom from the Showa era, consisting of 20 looms connected to a single motor, operates to produce Kurume Kasuri. Established in 1948, Kurume Kasuri is a traditional pre-dyed textile, representing Japan's heritage. The fabric's unique characteristic lies in its soft, handwoven-like texture. The production process involves extensive manual work, taking 2 to 4 months with over 30 steps to complete. The woven fabric undergoes natural drying through hot-water washing, resulting in approximately 10% shrinkage.

    This traditional Japanese textile is perfect for those seeking to create special, meticulously crafted products. It features a striking stripe pattern composed of 6 colors inspired by Japan's seasons and seasonal events. The term "stripe" ("shima" in Japanese) originally referred to cotton fabric with vertical stripes imported from foreign countries through Nanban trade. It was called "shima-mono" (island fabric) because it was brought from distant lands ("shima") and later came to be known as "stripe" during the Edo period.
