There are many famous sightseeing spots in Japan, but there are also many other recommended destinations that you should visit in addition to the major ones!
We hope you will take a step out of your comfort zone and enjoy the deep Japan.
This time, we will introduce you to Aomori Prefecture.
◆Recommendation No. 1
Hirosaki Castle & Park
Recommended time: Late April to early May
Hirosaki Park is home to 2,600 cherry trees and has been selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan.
There are 300 cherry trees over 100 years old, and the view of them in full bloom is breathtaking!
The "cherry blossom carpet" created by fallen cherry blossoms is not to be missed.
◆Recommendation No. 2
Hirosaki Neputa Festival
Recommended time: August 1 to August 7
The Hirosaki Neputa Festival is one of the most popular summer festivals in Tohoku.
The festival's star attraction is the "Neputa," a puppet lantern featuring warriors and famous scenes from mythology.
The largest lanterns are 5 meters high, 9 meters wide, and 7 meters deep, making them large in scale and full of power.
You will be enthralled by the "Neputa" as it moves slowly along with the rhythmical and powerful musical accompaniment (music played by flutes, drums, drums, shamisen, and other musical instruments).
