[About Kurume Kasuri]
Kurume Kasuri is a traditional pre-dyed woven textile that is representative of Japan, produced by Kurume Kasuri Weaving, established in the 23rd year of the Showa era. The weaving process involves 20 interconnected power looms driven by a single motor, creating a retro feel reminiscent of the Showa era.

Known for its soft texture similar to hand weaving, Kurume Kasuri embodies a delicate and distinctive charm. The production process is labor-intensive, requiring more than 30 steps and taking 2 to 4 months to complete. This textile is a perfect choice for individuals seeking to create unique pieces with a touch of Japanese tradition.

[Weaving Characteristics]
An interesting aspect of Kurume Kasuri is the "Tategasuri" technique, where patterns are exclusively formed using warp threads. This method, also known as "Itagasuri" or "Board Kasuri," involves combining 1 to 6 distinct binding patterns to design intricate motifs.

[About Yoroke Stripe]
The "Yoroke Stripe" is characterized by curved lines that create a striped pattern. While various approaches exist, including curving the weaving threads themselves or using printing techniques, the "Yoroke Stripe" of Kurume Kasuri stands out as an original creation by Shimogawa Orimono. This innovative stripe pattern draws from a fresh perspective, intertwining traditional techniques with new interpretations, embodying concepts of revitalization, transformation, and innovation.
