Kurume Kasuri originates from the weaving establishment founded in 1948, operating with a set of 20 interconnected retro-style power looms driven by a single motor, evoking the Showa era. This craft represents traditional pre-dyed woven textiles from Japan, characterized by a soft texture reminiscent of hand-weaving. With its intricate manual processes, spanning over 30 steps and taking 2 to 4 months to complete, Kurume Kasuri is an excellent choice for those seeking to create unique and meticulously crafted traditional Japanese pieces.

[Weaving Characteristics]
The "Tategami" technique, where patterns are expressed solely using warp threads, is also referred to as "itagasuri." By using 30/2 for the pattern threads and 40/2 for the ground threads, the fabric achieves a subtle textured appearance and accentuates the pattern's colors.
