    [About Kurume Kasuri]
This is Kurume Kasuri, a traditional pre-dyed woven fabric, produced by Kurume Kasuri Orimoto, a weaving establishment founded in 1948. Operating with a set of 20 vintage belt-driven power looms connected to a single motor, this retro style from the Showa era is a representative craft of Japan. Known for its soft texture akin to hand-weaving, Kurume Kasuri embodies the essence of Japanese traditional textiles. With intricate craftsmanship involving over 30 processes, it takes 2 to 4 months to complete a single piece, making it an ideal choice for those seeking meticulously crafted traditional Japanese textiles.

    [Weaving Characteristics]
The distinctive feature of Kurume Kasuri lies in its "Tategami" weaving technique, which uses only the warp threads to create patterns. This technique, also referred to as "Itagami," is a hallmark of the craft.

    [About "Arare" Pattern]
The "Arare" pattern, also known as "Yukinoko Kasuri," is characterized by small, evenly spaced motifs. Unlike prints, the pattern is achieved through tie-dye techniques. Each motif is designed with uniform spacing, but due to the nature of the dyeing process, slight variations in size create a visually harmonious arrangement. This multi-purpose pattern, whether in clothing or accessories, adds an element of versatility.
