Established in the 23rd year of the Showa era (1948), this traditional Japanese pre-dyed woven textile holds a significant place as a representative craft.

Characterized by its soft, handwoven-like texture, Kurume Kasuri is meticulously crafted through a labor-intensive process spanning over 30 steps and taking 2 to 4 months to complete. Perfectly suited for those who seek to create exclusive pieces encapsulating the essence of Japan's traditional textile heritage.

[Weaving Characteristics]
The "Tategasuri" technique, where patterns are created solely using warp threads, is also known as "itagasuri." By combining 1 to 6 distinct binding patterns, intricate designs are crafted.

[About Yoroke Stripe]
"Yoroke" stripes are created through gracefully curving lines, resulting in a distinctive pattern. While various approaches such as curving the weaving threads themselves or using print methods exist, the "Yoroke Stripe" of Kurume Kasuri uniquely utilizes the binding technique, showcasing the originality of Shimogawa Orimono. This innovative approach derives from a fresh perspective that seeks to blend tradition with new dimensions, embodying ideas of regeneration, transformation, and innovation.
