[About Kurume Kasuri]
Kurume Kasuri is a traditional pre-dyed woven fabric, with 20 looms connected to a single motor operating in a retro Showa-era belt-driven power loom. Founded in the 23rd year of the Showa era, Kurume Kasuri embodies the essence of Japan's representative textiles. It is known for its soft texture reminiscent of hand weaving and is characterized by a multitude of manual processes. It takes 2 to 4 months to complete over 30 steps, making it the perfect fabric for those seeking to create a meticulously crafted piece that embraces Japan's textile heritage.

[Weaving Characteristics]
The "tatekasuri," also referred to as "itagasuri" or "itagasuri," is a technique that employs only warp threads (tateito) to create patterns. The random geometric patterns are a distinctive expression unique to tatekasuri.

[Shibori Dyeing Technique]
The white kasuri pattern, expressed using the "shibori" technique, is partially dyed in blue. This meticulous hand-dyeing process known as "tsunamizome" involves carefully dyeing each pattern one by one while referring to the design. Today, craftsmen who practice "tsumamizome" have become exceedingly rare, making this technique a precious rarity.
