Product description:
An antique belt-driven power loom with 20 units connected to a single motor operates, embodying the retro feel of Showa era craftsmanship. Founded in the 23rd year of the Showa era, this is the Kurokami textile workshop of Kurume, renowned for being a representative traditional Japanese pre-dyed fabric.
Characterized by a soft texture akin to hand weaving, it undergoes a labor-intensive process. Over 30 steps are involved, taking 2 to 4 months for completion. The woven fabrics are then naturally shrunk by about 10% through hot water treatment and air drying.
This weaving workshop is committed to supporting entrepreneurs. It's the perfect fabric for those seeking to create a unique piece with a deep appreciation for Japan's traditional textiles.
