Banko-yaki earthenware is a traditional pottery produced in Yokkaichi City Mie Prefecture Japan. Banko-yaki has excellent heat resistance and heat retention characteristics and is famous for its kyusu (teapot) and earthenware pots that take advantage of these characteristics. Ginpo Mishima earthenware pots are said to be the standard earthenware pots and have been a long seller since the 1970s. With its design of white and gray gradation decorated with a floral pattern and its high heat resistance and heat retention it is used not only by ordinary households but also by professional cooks and continues to be loved by people in Japan and abroad. Suitable for general one-pot dishes stewed dishes etc. Can be used over an open flame in a microwave oven or in an oven but not in an induction cooktop.
